Is your rental property compliant?

Scottish letting rules changed four times in the last five years and change again in October. Nine questions, and you’ll see exactly what’s in date, what’s due, and what each rule says, on screen, right now.

Answer nine questions about the property

Dates can be approximate. The point is to see what’s due and when.

Is the property on the landlord register?
Does the property have a gas supply?

Needed every 12 months.

Needed at least every 5 years. Leave blank if none.

Leave blank if the property has no EPC.

Interlinked smoke & heat alarms fitted?
Carbon monoxide detectors where needed?
Tenant's deposit in an approved scheme?
Legionella risk assessment done?

Why we built this

Compliance is the whole job. An agency that can't tell you your EICR renewal date from memory shouldn't be holding your keys. This checker is the standard we hold ourselves to on every managed property.

What it doesn't cover

HMO licensing, short-term let licensing and condition-specific Repairing Standard questions need a conversation, not a form. If any of those apply to you, call us. The advice is free too.

What's changing next

Awaab's Law damp-and-mould deadlines and higher wrongful-termination penalties arrive in October 2026; EPC reform follows, and pre-reform EPCs stop being valid for new lets on 31 October 2027. The report flags what affects you.
