Work with us
Lintel Homes sells, lets and manages homes across Edinburgh and the Lothians from one office on George Street. The people who work here do all three, so a week takes in a valuation, a viewing, a deposit lodged and a repair chased. If that is the kind of work you want, this page tells you how to apply.
A plumber, electrician or other trade? The repairs panel has its own page.
Applications go to careers@lintelhomes.co.uk.
Open roles
How we hire
When we are hiring for a role it is listed here, with what the job is, where it is and what it pays. We do not advertise a role without the pay on it.
Between listings, write to us anyway. Tell us what you do well and which side of the business you would want to work in: sales, lettings, property management or the office. We read every application, reply to every one, and keep the ones we want to come back to.
Student placement
A placement in a working agency
One student at a time, working alongside the director across sales, lettings and management. Not a week of shadowing: you do the work, with someone beside you until you do not need them.
What you would do
- Preparing a listing: the photographs, the floorplan, the Home Report and the words that go with them
- Viewings and valuations, first alongside us and then on your own
- The compliance file for a let: deposit lodging, the safety certificates and the Repairing Standard
- Matching registered tenants and buyers to what comes on
- The office phone and WhatsApp inbox, which is where most of a working day happens
- The guides and the numbers behind them, if writing is your thing
The shape of it
- Length
- 4 to 12 weeks, as a summer block or part days in term time
- Where
- 93 George Street, Edinburgh, and out at the properties
- Pay
- Paid. The rate and the hours are agreed in writing before you start
- Course placements
- If your course needs a placement signed off, we complete the paperwork
What we ask
- You are on a course at a university or college, in property, surveying, business, law, marketing or something close
- You can be at the George Street office for the hours we agree
- You write clearly, because most of this job is a message to a landlord, a tenant or a solicitor
- You have the right to work in the UK
How to apply
Send us three things
- 1A CV, in whatever format you have it
- 2A short note on what you want from the placement and which side of the business interests you
- 3The dates you are available, and whether that is a block or part days around a timetable
Put “Student placement” or the name of the role in the subject line. We reply within five working days.
What you send is used to consider your application and nothing else. We keep it for six months in case a role comes up, then delete it, unless you ask us to keep it or to delete it sooner. How we handle personal data generally is in our privacy policy.
